Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to post an item to me once an order is placed?

We try to keep the website as up to date as possible, but some items are made to order and depending on how busy we are at that time can take 1-2 weeks. This may increase at peak times. If you are ever ordering for a set date then please contact us first. We can usually accommodate deadlines – but we just need to know first!

How much is delivery?

Delivery is usually between £2 – £5 depending on the size/weight of the item. Some really large items are more, but this can be seen at checkout.

Do you deliver internationally?

Yes of course. We will post anywhere in the world.  The best way to do this is to contact us first with where you are and what you would like to order, so we can set up postage correctly.

How will my items arrive?

With a lot of bubble wrap! We recycle packaging materials where we can also to do our bit to help the environment.  We package our items very carefully.

What if there is a fault with the item?

Firstly it’s important to consider what is classed as a fault. Each piece of glass is individually handcrafted and created. Due to the nature of kiln work, there are sometimes small imperfections in the glass such as bubbles, fading, minor marks or some clouding. It’s important to realise each piece is unique and not made in factory, and this adds to the handmade feel!

However if the item unfortunately arrives broken then please contact us to let us know within fourteen days and we will arrange a replacement where possible, or a refund.  If it needs to be returned then you have fourteen days from contacting us in which to do so. Please take into account the further conditions below.

What happens if I’ve changed my mind once the order has arrived?

Under the Distance Selling Regulations we accept returns on items as long as we are informed in writing within fourteen days.  The item must not have been worn (i.e. jewellery), or damaged in any way, and all packaging must be returned also.  You must pay the return postage, and are responsible for the item until it arrives safely back.

Please note custom, bespoke or made to order items are exempt from this returns policy.

What do I need to know about returning an item?

If you send an item back because there is a fault or you’ve simply changed your mind then please package it up very carefully. Please return it in the same way it was sent to you or an equivalent of the same price.  Please make sure you obtain proof of postage (POP) from the Post Office. You do not need to pay extra for this, and having the POP will enable you to claim the cost of the item back from Royal Mail in the event of the item going missing.

Will my item always look exactly the same as in the photo?

No, not always.  Due to the nature of handmade glass there can be some minor differences between pieces which is the beauty of it – as each piece is unique!

How do I look after the item I have purchased from you?

Glass is generally very low-maintenance and can just be wiped clean.  Please do not put glass pieces in a dishwasher.

It’s a good idea to replace the ribbon on hanging item every few years particularly if it’s outdoors or in sunlight just to prevent any fraying.

Items of jewellery should be kept out of damp conditions, and never worn in the bath/shower, swimming or similar.

Do you teach other people how to make fused glass items?

We certainly do! You can find more information on this here.  The lessons take place in Colchester, Essex.

What about workshops?

Yes, we also hold various workshops.  Keep an eye on our workshop page here to see what’s available to be booked.
